San Franscisco Part 1

Hi there! This week, we have been all over.  From Idaho, to Las Vegas, to San Diego and now in San Fransisco, we've had quite the vacation.  With all of this traveling however, I must say that San Fransisco has been my favorite place of all!  Jason and I haven't been to "The City" (as the locals call it), in years.  For me, I was probably eight when I visited it last and remember nothing about it.  Jason was here a few years ago for his buddy's wedding.  Either way, we were both excited to get into the city and explore all that San Francisco had to offer.  Since we are on a very tight budget, all of the things that we did were either free or cost us very little!  Score! On the first day of our adventure, we went all over the city.

First stop, Twin Peaks Look Out.  This little beauty is in South San Francisco and overlooks the entire city from both sides.  I have to say, the second we drove over the mountain getting into the city, I was in awe.  The houses are literally built on top of each other, side by side, on a hill.  Almost all of the houses are tall, skinny and sideways.  Almost none of the houses have normal sized garages.  Crazy weird.  When we got to the top of Twin Peaks, we parked our car on one of the winding roads and then hiked up a small hill to look out over the city.

Here's Lauren, my sister-in-law, and her husband Pat.  It was their third-year wedding anniversary that day and they were lucky enough to spend the whole day with us instead of each other!  Happy Anniversary Pat and Lauren!

Now, I feel as though I need to explain these next few pictures.  The sun truly hated me that day and I, of course, did not have any sun glasses.  In literally every single picture we took, my eyes are either closed or squinting so badly they look closed.  Jason, of course looked great in all of them, but I look like I have a double chin and am a little challenged in most of them.  After taking about twenty different pictures, we only had ONE good picture of Jason and I together where we are actually looking at the camera and my eyes look normal!  Miracles.

Stop number two, the concrete slides.  These slides were just about five minutes away from the look out spot.  They are hidden in a residential area of the city and I have no idea how we found them.  This was the greatest slide I have ever been on however and it is well worth the driving around to find them.  The slides are made out of concrete and are extremely steep!  The key to really get moving on these things though, is cardboard.  Sit on a piece of cardboard while you slide down and you will literally get air (at least I did).  We had a great time racing to the top and sliding down.

 Blurry, but hilarious.

Third stop, the Full House, house.  We couldn't go to San Fransisco without finding the house where they filmed Full House right?!  We looked it up via Google and it took us right to the house!  Apparently the new owners do not appreciate friendly visitors like ourselves, taking pictures in front of their house, so they repainted it and placed a very lovely No Trespassing sign on their front porch.  We felt kind of bad standing awkwardly in front of the house, so we only took this photo and moved on...

Final stop of the day, the Golden Gate Bridge.  This bridge really is amazing.  Standing just below it made me feel very small.  Next to where we were, there were all sorts of historical facts about the bridge.  Jason loved reading up on all of it.  I, of course just had him relay the information (too busy taking pictures).  One fun fact we learned was that "as of April 2011, 1,929,896,448 vehicles have crossed the Golden Gate Bridge since opening in 1937." Fact.  It's nice to say that I can now check off an item from the seven wonders of the world.

Jason refused to jump with me, hence....

Always reading...

Things to note from the day:
1. During sacrament meeting at church that morning, I proceeded to pour an entire tray of water onto the poor old woman's lap who had the misfortune of sitting next to me. She wouldn't make eye contact with me after that...
2. We saw a naked Santa walking down the street.  His outfit was complete with a Santa hat and a gold sock over his goodies. Some things, can't be unseen.
3.  San Fransisco might be the coolest city I have ever been in.  The architecture alone is amazing.
4.  Have you seen Impractical Jokers?  If not, you need to watch it.

Number One

Hi there!  Welcome to our blog, Inside This Woodhouse.  It's been over a year since Jason and I have been married and sadly enough, I haven't started a REAL blog yet!  I know what you're thinking, what kind of wife am I?  So, I have decided that it is about time that our lives became public knowledge and what better way to make that happen than to start blogging our lives through pictures, stories and maybe even some witty remarks.

Welcome to our new home.
